About AppGild
A marketplace for the focused tools that actually get the work done.
A contractor builds a quoting tool because nothing on the market fits how jobs actually get priced. A recruiter creates an intake form because the ones she inherited keep losing candidates. A bookkeeper writes a reconciliation checker because the manual process eats four hours a week.
For a long time, that’s where their story ended. Turning the idea into real software required skills they didn’t have, money they couldn’t justify, and time they’d already given to their actual job. That’s changing.
The Shift
Today, anyone with a clear idea and a free weekend can build a working app: no coding degree, no engineering team, no investors. The barrier between “I know exactly how this should work” and “I built it and it works” has dropped a long way.
That unlocks a class of focused tools that didn’t have a good distribution path before: things too narrow for a SaaS company to bother with, too specific for App Store discovery to surface, too operational to live on Etsy or Gumroad. Those are the tools we built AppGild to host.
What AppGild Is
AppGild is a curated marketplace for focused software tools that solve specific business problems. Each listing has a Trust Sheet from the builder describing what the app does, what data it touches, where data lives, and what’s included.
Anyone can list an app. AppGild reviews each listing for clarity, accurate pricing claims, and policy compliance before it goes live — not for quality, security, or functionality. The Trust Sheet is the builder’s disclosure; AppGild doesn’t independently verify those claims.
For Buyers
You can browse by industry, by category, or by function, and search across listings. Each listing has the builder’s listing details up front so you can decide whether it fits before you buy.
You evaluate each app from its screenshots and listing details, not a live trial. If a subscription isn’t right for you, request a full refund within 14 days of purchase under our standard refund policy.
Every listing comes with the builder’s listing details and a 14-day refund, so you can judge the fit before you buy and step away if it’s not right. Full terms are in our Terms of Service.
For Builders
You solved a problem that other people still struggle with every day. Maybe it started as a spreadsheet. Maybe it was a process you automated for yourself. Maybe it’s an idea you’ve carried around for years and finally built last weekend.
AppGild gives you a place to list and sell that tool. You set the price. We handle the payment, license-key delivery, and access control. You keep 80% of every sale; AppGild takes a flat 20% commission. There’s no listing fee.

The Bigger Picture
For decades, software was built by software companies. That worked for the big, generalized problems. It worked less well for the small, specific ones: the ones a 50-person dental practice has, or a roofing contractor, or a private-practice therapist. AppGild exists for that second category.
