Buying apps

What is AppGild?

AppGild is a curated marketplace for focused software tools, like client intake forms, quote generators, invoice tools, and scheduling helpers. Each app is a subscription. Each listing has listing details from the builder telling you what the app does, what data it touches, and what's included.

How do refunds work?

Within 14 days of purchase, you can request a full refund, no support ticket gymnastics. After 14 days, refunds are at the builder's discretion (AppGild does not require them). The refund flow lives in your AppGild dashboard.

How do I access an app I bought?

After purchase, you get instant access through your AppGild dashboard. For AppGild-hosted apps, you use them directly inside appgild.ai. For Creator-hosted apps, the builder's app uses a license key from AppGild to verify your active subscription: same login model, the app just lives on the builder's domain.

Can I share the app with my team?

Each AppGild subscription is tied to one account. Multi-seat or team plans are not yet standard but some builders offer them on their listings; check the specific app's description and listing details. If you need team access, message the builder through the listing.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

Each app handles your data differently; the listing details tell you where data is stored and what happens after cancellation. AppGild itself only stores your account profile and purchase history; we don't hold a copy of your in-app data unless the builder uses AppGild-hosted storage.

Does AppGild guarantee the apps work?

No. AppGild reviews listings for clarity and policy compliance (honest description, subscription pricing, no regulated-data categories, basic mobile responsiveness). We do not certify app quality, security, or functionality. The listing details tell you what the app actually does; the 14-day refund window protects you if it doesn't fit.

Does AppGild review listings?

Yes. Before a listing goes live we review it for accurate descriptions, working access, and policy compliance. This is a basic clarity and policy check, not a guarantee of quality, security, or fitness for your use. Builder disclosures are self-reported, and quality is judged by real use and buyer reviews.

Listing your app

What kind of apps belong on AppGild?

Focused tools that solve a specific workflow problem someone would pay $5-$99/month or $29-$499/year for. Good examples: client intake forms for a profession, quote/invoice/proposal generators, scheduling helpers, niche calculators, lead-follow-up workflows. Not a fit: large SaaS suites, generic AI chatbot wrappers with no domain logic, apps requiring regulated-data handling (medical PHI, financial account access, government IDs).

Can I list an app I already built somewhere else?

Yes. You can list an existing app: either by uploading the build to AppGild-hosted, or by pointing AppGild at your own hosted URL and integrating our License-Verify API. The Build Assistant inside the listing flow is designed for builders without an app yet; if you already have one, skip its idea-development steps and go straight to the listing fields.

AppGild-hosted vs Creator-hosted: which should I pick?

AppGild-hosted (Path A) is for browser-only apps that fit in one self-contained HTML file with CSS/JS inlined. We host it, gate access by AppGild authentication, you build only the app itself. Creator-hosted (Path B) is for apps needing a backend, database, or your own runtime: you host on Vercel/your-server, integrate our License-Verify API (~20 lines of JS) to gate access. See /docs/license-verify for the integration details.

How does editorial review work?

When you click Submit, an automated first-pass review checks listing clarity, pricing-claim consistency, listing details completeness, basic mobile responsiveness, and policy compliance. You see the specific flags in your builder dashboard. A human pass from AppGild staff follows during the early operating phase. First submission is free. First revision after a kickback is free. Second revision onward is $2.99 per attempt (anti-spam, not a money-maker). Most submissions land on attempt 1 or 2.

How much does AppGild charge?

AppGild takes a flat 20% commission on every sale; you keep 80%. Listing fees are $0. There is no monthly platform fee for builders. Payouts flow through Stripe Connect on a 16-day hold (anti-fraud window), then on your Stripe Connect schedule. Full pricing details at /pricing.

Can I list more than one app?

Yes, there is no cap on the number of apps a builder can list. The only per-builder limit is the daily app-creation cap (which bounds AppGild's AI review cost), and that resets every 24 hours.

What's not allowed?

Hard declines (not iterable): apps that store Protected Health Information (HIPAA), apps that handle bank credentials or move money (GLBA), apps that store government IDs, and apps that exist purely as a thin AI wrapper with no domain logic. Common kickbacks (iterable): pricing-language mismatch with subscription model, stale screenshots, thin listing details, mobile-responsiveness failures.

About AppGild

Who runs AppGild?

AppGild is operated by Meridian Data LLC, a Washington State LLC. We're a small team building a curated marketplace for practical software tools. We launched in May 2026.

Who is "Sam"?

Sam is AppGild's customer-facing voice: it represents AppGild itself and the small team operating the marketplace, not a single named individual. Messages signed as Sam may be drafted by a person, AI tooling, or both, and are reviewed against our internal communications standards before they go out. This is a deliberate brand choice, not a deception. See Section 16 of the Terms of Service.

Does AppGild use AI?

Yes, and we're upfront about it. AI helps us draft some customer communications, do the first-pass editorial review of submitted listings, and draft policy documentation. AppGild staff reviews AI-drafted content before it's relied upon for legally binding decisions or commitments. Final approve/reject decisions on listings, refunds beyond the standard 14-day window, and any commitment requiring discretion are made by humans. See Section 16 of the Terms of Service for the full disclosure.

How can I get in touch?

For support questions, email support@appgild.ai. For legal questions, legal@appgild.ai. We don't offer phone support, scheduled video calls, or 1-on-1 setup; the platform is self-serve by design.
